Publication Ethics and Malpractice

Ethical statement International Journal Of Education And Social Humanities (IJESH) published by Research institutes and scientific publications Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al Washliyah (LPPI – UMNAW). This statement is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and includes a code of conduct for editors-in-chief, editorial board members, reviewers and authors. The article published in the International Journal Of Education And Social Humanities is an important building in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge about education and it is a direct reflection of the quality of authors and institutions. It is therefore important to agree on standards of ethical behavior that are expected for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers and the public.  The International Journal Of Education And Social Humanities is committed to ensuring that all procedures are directed only to facilitate objective and intellectual treatment. Furthermore, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political interests and specific groups.

Author's obligations

  1. Ensure articles are the latest and original submitted work.
  2. Ensure that articles have new contributions in science.
  3. Do not submit the same work to other journals before or after publication.
  4. Only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving an official rejection from the journal or if their request to withdraw their work is officially accepted by the journal.
  5. Must notify the Editor-in-Chief or publisher of data inaccuracies in their published work so that correction or retraction of the article can be made.
  6. Must make a significant contribution and take responsibility for any shortcomings in their work.

Reviewer obligations

  1. Must disclose competing interests before agreeing to review submissions.
  2. May refuse to review any submission due to conflicts of interest or insufficient knowledge.
  3. Review all submissions objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  4. Disclose ethical errors encountered while reviewing to the Editor-in-Chief for further action.
  5. Must ensure the originality of the submission and beware of plagiarism and excessive publication. Do not discuss the content of posts without permission. 
  6. Adhere to the time allotted for the review process.
  7. Requests for extension to review submissions are at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.

Obligations of Editorial Board Members

  1. Actively contribute to the greater development and good of the journal.
  2. Act as an ambassador for the journal.
  3. Continue to support and promote the journal.
  4. Review any work assigned to them.

Obligations Of Chief Editor

  1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on the basis of their intellectual achievements.
  2. Ensure the confidentiality of the manuscript and do not disclose any information regarding the manuscript to anyone other than the person involved in the publishing process.
  3. Have the responsibility to decide when and which articles to publish.
  4. Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers and authors on how to improve/enhance the image and visibility of the journal.
  5. Give clear instructions to potential contributors about the submission process and what is expected of the author.
  6. Ensure the right reviewers are selected/identified for the review process.
